At the moment, the world is in precarious place. Most of us are figuring out how to gracefully move forward. In the meantime there's action we can take now to improve our way of life little by little.

My fiancé and I have been gardening for years. We have all types of vegetables, fruits and herbs. We have a massive avocado tree, Grapefruit, lemon, orange, persimmon, pomegranate and fig tree to name a few.
I grew up in this neighborhood, right here on Topeka street in the 80s'. As a kid all the neighbors were so kind. We could pick from anyone's tree and even use their hose to get some cold water during an active day outside. We knew the route and the different times of year we could get easy pickins just off the sidewalk. Juicy plums and sweet pomegranate that stained everything. Crisp apples or some super sour lemons. Those were the days....
Nowadays its really difficult to get locally grown produce at a reasonable price. Even though we grow everything in California. A lot of our produce comes from out of the country. We welcome and consume it. But its not nearly as beneficial as the food that grows in our backyard. Simply put, the fruits and vegetables that we grow at home use the same exact oxygen as us. The bees and all the pollinators are all local. The soil that our produce is growing in, is foliage that's constantly breaking down over years of weather. Our local dirt! That means they were grown for us. Let’s enjoy them together!
